Compher not satisfied with early play, eager to improve
A cool article from AJ Haefele of BSN that shows the desire of JT Compher to be a better player and find a home in the NHL, with the Colorado Avalanche.
Favorite quote:
“I think I’m getting a little more comfortable as I get a few more games under my belt. I’m trying to be a little more patient with the puck, continuing to be part of the forecheck and backchecking D, be a two-way player. I think I’m getting a little more comfortable as we get going.”

Forbes Sports Money
I geek out on the world of sports, of the courts and away from the rinks. The business and the people who make the sports world spin. Here’s a great podcast suggested by a listener of our podcast.

The god damned concussion protocol
You know the concussion protocol is well-intentioned, but it’s got a long way to go. Check out this interesting case-study of how the concussion protocol can change a game when the one guy who never leaves the ice, has to leave the game for evaluation. Also, soccer should do this as well to cut back on the drama and acting to try and get free kicks. I know I see a lot of hockey players quick to get up instead of milking a collision that could get them tagged for concussion protocol.

Have you ever seen the San Antonio Rampage website?
It’s not great. You could say it’s the AHL version of a website. But, if you haven’t seen what our depth in the AHL looks like and what fans might be able to expect in the NHL soon, it’ll do.

Line Combos We’d Like To See
Our thoughts on a few line combos that should be used, while were “seeing what players got” for the rest of the year.
Maybe Dutchy (C), Andrighetto (RW) &, Nieto (LW) on a line. Not big & don’t bang, but fast, skilled & could be a nice change of pace line

2nd Landeskog (LW), Rantanen (RW) & MacKinnon (C) Size& skill. Landy = compete, Rants = gnarly passes to a streaking MacK

The 3rd & 4th lines are wide open for experimentation. As few minutes as possible.
